June is that awkward month with no female saints on the current calendar, apart from the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, honored on June 13, and the usual BVM Saturday memorials that resume with Ordinary Time (14, 21, 28).

Do you ever feel like the “laborers are few” in your ministry setting? If so, what can you do to mitigate the situation?

A lot of folks are puzzled as to why Jesus asked his disciples not to go into pagan territory or to visit Samaritan towns on their first foray into ministry.

Jesus called ordinary people to follow him. Then he commissioned them to heal and cleanse those who were suffering in their midst, and eventually he sent them to spread the message of forgiveness, love, and redemption to all.

My brothers and sisters, to prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries, let us call to mind our sins.

We all have a vocation. We believe that God has placed us in this life to fill a special need that no one else can accomplish.
