On the verge of Christmas and the end of Advent, now is a good time to reflect seriously on the meaning of the Son of God’s coming into the world and your life.

One of the great mysteries of Christian faith concerns the silence of God. It’s the one mystery that can make or break us as believers.

What would Christmas be without light? We celebrate with lights on our homes, in our windows, on our trees, and each light is a small bit of praise to God. But we don’t have to wait until Christmas.

“This is what I believe to be true. . . You have to do everything you can, you have to work your hardest, and if you do, if you stay positive, you have a shot at a silver lining.”

Brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries of God with us.

I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
