SUNDAY SUMMARY

Zephaniah 3:14-18a  The time for joy is here, because God is in our midst with power to save.

Isaiah 12:2-3, 4, 5-6  Sing with joy and gladness, for in the presence of the Holy One, we have nothing to fear.

Philippians 4:4-7  Rejoice always, and have no anxiety, for the Lord is near.

Luke 3:10-18  What should we do? Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

What’s in your heart?

The note of joy this Sunday sounds clear in the liturgy, but it is not a generic joy we celebrate. We rejoice because God is in our midst, and the upcoming celebration of Christmas will bring home to us the advent of this presence in the person of Jesus.
