Jubilee 2025 officially begins the day after Christmas. Be sure to plan and post the special ways your parish will be commemorating the Jubilee theme, "Pilgrims of Hope."

The readings this week are full of paradoxes about where to look for great things. 

What makes Christians different from other holiday shoppers during the month of December? That’s not a trick question.

“Come lie down here,” the kind nurse said. She had a friendly smile.

New jobs, job promotions, acceptance at your first-choice school, straight A’s, getting engaged, the mortgage approved, the account you were vying for, front-row tickets to the game of the century—these are all extremely exciting moments in the course of any life, but they pale in comparison to giving birth—at least for most people, under even the worst circumstances.

Coming together as God’s family, let us prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries by acknowledging God's greatness and calling to mind our sins.

Now my belly is as noble as my heart.
