"Are you the one who is to come?” That’s the question John the Baptist’s disciples had for Jesus, but is it one you can ask yourself today?

Singing in a choir, I feel a little sorry for the Easter season. Yes, it has its music, same as any other part of the church year. But once Pentecost arrives, we forget the hymns of Easter and don’t really miss them. Few people enjoy Easter music in their homes or play it on their iPods. The songs of Advent and Christmas, however, are different.

John, meanwhile, had been locked up in prison. When he got wind of what Jesus was doing, he sent his own disciples to ask, “Are you the One we’ve been expecting, or are we still waiting?”
