This month concludes our Lenten observance, contains the high holy days of the Triduum (28-30), and ushers us to Easter Sunday (31). We'll perform scrutinies for our Elect (3, 10, 17) and welcome them into the church in sacraments of Initiation.

We are witnesses of all that Jesus did, says the Acts of the Apostles. What is our response?

"Come, let us build the ship of the future.” With these remarkable words an Irish ballad invites us to participate in the world we are making with each new decision and every new day. Where do you want to be tomorrow, or a year from now?

On the occasion of his 50th birthday, a man’s spouse decided to host a surprise celebration. The spouse booked a private dining room and sent invitations to select friends. No one knew who else was invited and all were told to keep it secret.

I‘ve always had a hard time with Easter. Maybe it’s that I don’t do well when I eat too much candy, which I inevitably do on Easter Sunday. But I find Easter a difficult day to celebrate.

Brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.

God made us for joy. God is joy, and the joy of living reflects the original joy that God felt in creating us.
