SUNDAY SUMMARY

Isaiah 49:14-15  God is not the indifferent deity of the Gentiles, but a tender mother to Israel.

Psalm 62:2-3, 6-7, 8-9 (6a)  The only foundation we can count on in this fragile world is our God.

1 Corinthians 4:1-5  A steward’s primary responsibility is to be trustworthy, as Paul is before God.

Matthew 6:24-34  First things first: Is fidelity to God our priority, or some other, worldly goal?

Suffer the little children

“Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb?” asks the reading from the Book of Isaiah this Sunday. Not likely, but sometimes horrible circumstances force loving parents in severely conflicted or impoverished situations to send their children into harm’s way as refugees in search of a better life.
