This Sunday the psalmist reminds us that “God gives a home to the forsaken,” while Jesus encourages us to make room for the less fortunate with our hospitality: “When you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame ... .”

One quarter of homeless people are children. HUD reports that on any given night, more than 138,000 of the homeless in the United States are children under the age of 18. Thousands of these homeless children are unaccompanied.
