As the season of Advent begins, we are watchful for the coming of the Lord and for the grace to receive him.
The Lord rescues us, gives us rest, and heals us.
We ask to be made good and faithful servants.
We pray to become the living body of Christ.
We pray to be with God now and at the hour of our death.
We turn to our God who responds to those who cry out in prayer.
In the gospel today Jesus challenges his hearers to choose to follow God above all else. Let us pray that we may make that choice.
The Lord provides a feast for all peoples. We ask that nothing may separate us from the table of God’s salvation.
With faith in God’s guidance, by prayer and petition, we make our request for mercy known to God.
Brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
