As we prepare to celebrate the mystery of Christ’s love and the fulfillment of all the promises of scripture, let us acknowledge our failures and ask the Lord’s pardon.

As we acknowledge our sins during this year of Jubilee, may our hearts be opened and our minds enlightened so that we may more fully understand and experience God’s gifts of mercy and forgiveness.

As we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord, we ask that God wash away our sins and to prepare us for the sacred mysteries.

We want to walk not in darkness but in the light of God. We ask God to shed the light of forgiveness on us as we acknowledge our sins.

My brothers and sisters, to prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries, let us call to mind our sins.

Coming together as God’s family, let us prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries by acknowledging God's greatness and calling to mind our sins.

To open ourselves to God’s joy and peace and prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries, let us call to mind our sins.

My friends in Christ, we continue to ready ourselves for the coming of Christ during this season of Advent.
